STICOMMS 2026
The maiden edition of Nigeria’s Science, Technology and Innovation Communication Conference (STICOMMS) is scheduled to hold from January 20 to 22, 2026, at the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja.
With the theme “Communicating Science, Technology and Innovation for National Development,” the conference aims to strengthen collaboration among academia, government, industry, and the media to effectively harness scientific research and innovation for sustainable development in Nigeria and across Africa.
STICOMMS is about changing the narrative. Research must inform policy, drive development, and ultimately improve lives.
The conference programme will feature paper presentations, panel sessions, capacity-building workshops, exhibitions of patents and innovations, as well as structured networking opportunities. The hybrid format will enable both physical and virtual participation, with expected attendance from across Africa and the diaspora.
In addition, STICOMMS will spotlight youth-led innovations through innovation hubs, scholarship opportunities, and mentorship programmes, providing young innovators with platforms to showcase their ideas and connect with key stakeholders.
